How I Work

Through the counseling techniques I use,
clients are assisted to move into a better
emotional place to empower themselves.

For more than 25 years I have been working with individual clients and couples to help them to feel better about themselves and to create the lives that they want. I have developed Brief Positive Therapy that includes a variety of processes and techniques that are based on sound psychological, educational and spiritual principles that guide me in my work.

Brief Positive Therapy focuses on the following:

  • Rapid release techniques of hypnosis, biofeedback and EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Response, are used to process past issues and to assist you to take your power back.

  • Focus is placed on the present utilizing biofeedback to recognize your reactions to current life events. Various processes are used to better understand your reactions, to develop new ways of thinking and communicating, and to make new choices that will lead to the changes you want in your life. The emphasis is on personal empowerment so that you can assertively deal with life on a day-to-day basis.

  • As you shift your focus a previously unimagined future will gradually emerge in your mind’s eye. You will progress to a place where you will create a more health-full lifestyle. This will enable you to put your intentions and attention onto your own future.

I believe that all therapy/counseling requires some attention on the past, the present and the future. Although it is important to uncover limiting patterns and beliefs that have been haunting you, it is equally important to let go of them so that you can be freed-up emotionally. Most people don’t need all of their time in therapy to be looking back into the past. They just need for the past to be behind them.

Based on my experience - - Times of transition are critical points in our lives and it’s at those times when counseling can be the most useful. The techniques and processes that I use are all based on direct experience of what works to consistently assist clients. I have sought out techniques that provide you with the skills and tools that you can use daily. Most clients indicate that the processes and techniques have aided then to make the changes they want.
