Courses

As an educator I have presented trainings in business settings including Hewlett-Packard, Nortel and Pacific Bell. All of them have been related to assisting managers and staff to better understand the “people side” of the work environment. These trainings have focused on:

  • Individual personality characteristics and work styles
  • Communication development and conflict resolution
  • Change and transition management
  • Work team building
  • Remote management techniques
  • Personal career development
  • Managing diversity and disability accommodation issues
  • Managing the stress of 24/7 availability

I have taught courses/workshops on Communications, Stress Management and Career Development at Stanford University, Santa Clara University, San Jose State University, De Anza, Foothill and San Jose City Community Colleges. Also, I have developed courses for renewal of licensing for other therapists. These courses have been focused on stress management, forgiveness, and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)/winter depression.

Courses are announced in the eNewsletter and on this website.

Publication

I like to write. And, now word processors make writing into such a wonderful creative experience that I enjoy it so much more. My book, Aftershocks of Stress, Crisis and Trauma took 3 years to complete. Of course, it had to be sandwiched in between work and day-to-day living. So in 2002 when it was published I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment. I designed the book as an introduction to the counseling work I do.
