About Me
An interesting and rewarding career is a positive contribution to having a good life. Helping you to achieve that is the focus on my practice. In my 30 years experience I've drawn on my own work experience as a teacher, a school counselor, as an education counselor at a VA satelite office with disabled veterans, as a communications and team building trainer at several Silicon Valley companies including HP, as a psychotherapist in private practice I've worked with people of all ages and backgrounds and I've published a book, Aftershocks of Stress, Crisis and Trauma (2002). More recently I specialized in career counseling/ testing / coaching and work related stress, crisis and trauma (PTSD). That may seem like an unusual combo, however just think of the various ups and downs that everyone experiences throughout their education and work lives. Along with the many positive aspects there are also many moments of stress, crisis or trauma. Just think of the range of work related issues such as rapid expansion - downsizing - discrimination related to age, gender, or disabilities - outsourcing - and day-to-day interactions with co-workers, managers, and clients or customers. So combining the two areas of career counseling and stress, crisis, and trauma (PTSD) in my work just made sense.

I really like seeing the range of clients I have now - from high school students to people who need to return to work because they are going through a divorce to those wanting to change careers to people who have been injured or have health issues and can no longer do the work they did before to those nearing retirement and wanting to either work in retirement or focus on an "encore" career as a volunteer.
